An API key authenticates every MCP request and maps it to one organization (workspace). Treat it like a password — anyone holding it can publish and read results for that workspace.

Create a key

Open the dashboard

Go to Settings → AI agents & API in seenpaid.

Generate a key

Click Create API key and give it a name (e.g. claude-agent). The full secret is shown once, at creation — copy it now and store it somewhere safe.

Use it as a Bearer token

Pass it on every MCP request:
Keys are prefixed sp_ followed by a long random string. Only that sp_... prefix and a masked hint are ever stored in a readable form — the secret itself is hashed (SHA-256) before it touches the database, which is why it can be shown to you exactly once.
The full key is only revealed at creation. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one — seenpaid genuinely can’t show it to you again, because it never stored the plaintext.

What a key can do

Each key is scoped to a single workspace. Through it, an agent can call every seenpaid MCP tool — list accounts and posts, publish and schedule, read analytics and top earners, run autopilot, experiments and recycle — but only for that workspace’s data. There is no cross-account access. Run more than one brand or client? Create a separate key per workspace. Use list_workspaces to confirm which one a key points at.
Actions that publish (schedule_post, bulk_schedule, repost, launch_experiment) are attributed to the user who created the key. Keep the key owned by an active member of the workspace.

Revoke a key

Revoke a key anytime from Settings → AI agents & API. Revoked keys stop working immediately — any request using one returns 401 Unauthorized. lastUsedAt updates on each successful call, so you can tell at a glance which keys are live.
Use a separate key per agent or integration. That way you can revoke one without breaking the others, and the last-used timestamp tells you which integration is doing what.

Next: connect the MCP server

Point Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor at the endpoint with your key.
